National Youth Project Using Minibikes (NYPUM)Two-Stroke Tutorials: Minibikes Used As Teaching Tools [Video] Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps administers the National Youth Project Using Minibikes (NYPUM). NYPUM is a nationwide network of nearly 50 programs sponsored by the American Honda Motor Company to engage youth and promote their development through an exciting and challenging activity. Since its inception, NYPUM has proven to be highly effective with children who have significant challenges with their behavior or academic performance. In more recent years, NYPUM has demonstrated that its services are also valuable as a prevention program to motivate all youth to make positive choices. A key component to NYPUM's success is its capability to hold youth accountable for their decisions. NYPUM combines the attractiveness of riding a motor bike with incentives tied to achievement of specific goals in each youth's success plan. Learn more at www.nypum.org. |
"Justice, dignity, equality – these are words which are often used loosely, with little appreciation of their meaning. I think that their meaning can be distilled into one goal: that every child in this country live as we would want our own children to live."
