Children who live on the Lancaster campus have often suffered from parental abuse and neglect, family violence, mental health/behavioral and cognitive challenges, and have many needs, including individual and family counseling, recreational support, life skills, relationship-building and other therapeutic interventions. Boys and girls between 7 and 18 live, learn and heal on the Lancaster Residential Treatment Campus.

The Robert F. Kennedy Lancaster School is located on the Lancaster campus and is a state-approved special education school that is open to residence as well as off-campus students for day and after-school programs.

Specific services include:

• Long- and short-term residential treatment
• Day-student education and therapy
• Emergency assessment and respite care
• Special education assessment and placement
• Special education and support for elementary, middle and high school students
• Group and family therapy
• Family support services
• Adventure Education, including National Youth Project Using Minibikes (NYPUM)

The Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps Lancaster Campus is a local chapter of the international non-profit, Trips for Kids Operating in the United States, Canada and Israel.  Trips For Kids® (TFK®) has opened the world of cycling to over 79,000 at-risk youth since 1988 through mountain bike rides and Earn-A-Bike programs. Each chapter supports lessons in confidence building, achievement and environmental awareness through the development of practical skills, and the simple act of having fun.  Trips For Kids® provides biking experiences to children that they may not otherwise experience.  The boys and girls at the Lancaster Campus enjoy biking trips all over Massachusetts and beyond.  Visit the Trips for Kids website and their National Sponsor page at www.tripsforkids.org/national/sponsors.htm.
